Shannon recently moved to Denver from Boston, where she ran a successful dog training business helping clients and their dogs bring out the best in each other. Shannon believes it’s healthier for both human and canine when owners have dogs they can live with and take out in public, so she focuses on teaching people how to train useful skills to their dogs and eliminate behavior problems.
Shannon’s desire to understand and change behavior was sparked when she adopted her own adult dog with several unexpected behavior problems, including aggression. She was a student under a number of skilled trainers where she gained hands-on experience, and regularly road trips to attend dog training seminars and workshops. Shannon originally gained experience volunteering at an animal shelter, before being employed as a dog trainer in Boston.
Shannon’s outgoing and humorous personality serves her well, as she finds teaching people, and their dogs, inherently rewarding.
When not training dogs, you might find Shannon cooking, dabbling in dog sports with her Great Dane, or working on home projects.
